After leaving school, Sam knew he wanted to work in construction and went on to study architecture, structural engineering, and drafting. The building industry was in a slump at the time and while waiting for the right time to begin his apprenticeship, Sam did clerical work in the Emergency Department at North Shore Hospital.
For Sam, building has always been more than just a job; he believes it’s the best way to spend your time whilst making a living.
Having previously worked as one of Eye For Detail's Foremen, Sam now steps into the role of Small Works Manager, bringing years of hands-on experience and leadership to the team. He enjoys the culture at Eye For Details most of all, valuing the people he works alongside every day.
Sam’s top tip for anyone in the industry is simple: treat every project like it’s your own personal job. That mindset is reflected in the care and attention he brings to every project he manages.
As Small Works Manager, Sam is excited to take on the next step in his career, reconnect with his technical background, and put his maths and problem-solving skills back to work in a new way.
