Tim Laycock

Foreman

Tim’s journey into building started in the timber industry, where he worked in the pre-cutting departments of several timber merchants, before deciding to pursue a building apprenticeship. Since then, he’s developed a real passion for the craft, particularly the finishing side of building, and installing weatherboards and cladding. What Tim enjoys most about being part of EFD is the team. He appreciates the mix of experienced and younger carpenters, the way everyone gets along, and the strong standards the company holds itself to. For Tim, one of the most rewarding parts of being a builder is seeing a client’s reaction when a project comes together. Hearing “That looks great, we’re so happy” is the kind of feedback that makes him proud of his work and motivates him for the next job. He also enjoys driving past completed projects and seeing them still looking great years later. Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with his son, as well as fishing, hunting, and exploring bush and beach walks. Basically, if it involves getting outdoors and enjoying the open air, he’s happy.
